Ankush Bhatia, MD, is a neuro-oncologist at UW Health and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Neurology He cares for children and adults with cancers of the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord. He also treats, cancers of the peripheral nervous system, consisting of nerves branching out from the brain and spinal cord. Dr. Bhatia treats primary CNS tumors (gliomas) and secondary tumors that have spread from other parts of the body. In addition, he has advanced expertise in chemotherapy-related nerve disorders, as well as paraneoplastic disorders – rare conditions caused by an immune response to a cancerous growth called a neoplasm.
