Dr. Michael W. Collins is a clinical neuropsychologist and is the clinical and executive director of the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program. Dr. Collins earned a master’s degree in psychology and a doctorate degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in neuropsychology from Michigan State University. He has been instrumental in the development of numerous concussion management programs for youth, collegiate, and professional sports leagues and teams and is currently a consultant for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins. He serves on the editorial boards for several journals, including Neurosurgery and the Journal of Athletic Training.
