RETIRED: Michael J. Kushner, MD

About

Dr Kushner majored in physics at Yale University and graduated with honors in 1973. He completed his MD degree at New York University in 1977 where he was class president. Following an internship at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX, he completed his neurologist residency at the Neurological Institute at Columbia –Presbyterian Medical Center in New York in 1981. He continued his training as a fellow at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and joined the medical school faculty there as Assistant Professor of Neurology in 1983. He received one of the first Clinical Investigator Development awards and participated in numerous clinical and research studies in the fields of stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy and neuroimaging.
