Dr Sung Bae Lee serves as the Medical Director of Neurointerventional Surgery at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. As a neurointerventionalist, he specializes in complex cerebrovascular disease, including stroke, atherosclerosis of the intracranial and extracranial circulation, arteriovenous malformations, dural AV fistulas and cerebral aneurysms. Using state-of-the-art imaging in a specially equipped angiography suite, Dr Lee performs procedures that generally involve microcatheters (tiny tubes) to embolize (close) or recanalize (open) abnormal blood vessels of the brain and spine. This endovascular approach often eliminates the need for open surgery and may provide lifesaving options for previously untreatable lesions.
