Markert James M MD

About

Dr. Markert is the Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at University of Alabama at Birmingham, and has been a faculty member in neurological surgery for since 1996. He attended college at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, then obtained his MD/MPH from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and School of Public Health in New York City. Subsequently, he trained in Surgery and Neurological Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Markert also completed a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in the area of molecular neurosurgery under the direction of Dr. Robert Martuza.
